The National Team Identification Series is a tiered tryout system (local, state, regional, national) with the opportunity to compete for a spot on USA Baseball's National Team for next summer. The NTIS is a 3-step process.

Step 1

Local area/State pro-style showcase event at Rockford Park (Wilmington) on July 21. This will be a complete skill evaluation with running, fielding and fundamentals of baseball. Players will run 60s, take infield/outfield and batting practice. 18 players from each age group will be selected as a member of Team Delaware to represent the state at the Capital Region Championship Showcase at the Virginia Sports Complex.

Step 2

Capital Region Championship Event at the Virginia Sports Complex (Ruther Glen, Virginia) on August 14-16. A 3 day showcase style event with the top payers at each age group competing to be selected to represent the Capital Region on the national stage. This event is highly scouted by college coaches and professional scouts.

Step 3

National NTIS Event will take place on August 23-26th (17U & 16U) and September 6-9th (14U) in Cary, North Carolina. At this event, the top players in the country compete to be selected to the USA Baseball National Team Trials. This is one of the premier youth baseball events in the country, and is highly scouted by college coaches and professional scouts.

To register for the event, please visit www.CapitalNTIS.com. The cost to attend the local area/state pro-style showcase event is $150. For more information, visit our Capital NTIS website or www.usabaseball.com (under the Events tab). If you have any questions, I can be reached at DE@CapitalNTIS.com. If you would like to participate but will not be able to attend on July 21st, please let me know and we can figure out a way to make it work. Also, check out the National Team Identification Series ad on page 11 of the newest Baseball America with Jurickson Profar on the cover.

We look forward to seeing you out there. Best of luck!

Sincerely,

Shaun Parker

Assistant DE NTIS Coordinator

The following is a breakdown of the age groups for the NTIS:

The tryouts will be held at the 14U, 16U & 17U age levels. The 14U and 17U age groups will tryout for the opportunity to play for the 2013 15U and 18U National Teams, respectively. The 16U level will tryout for the opportunity to take part in the 2013 17U National Team Development Program (NTDP). As per international guidelines, players competing in the NTIS/NTDP in the three age groups (14U, 16U, & 17U) must conform to the following:

- 2012 17U NTIS: born on or after Jan. 1, 1995, for the 2013 18U National Team

- 2012 16U NTIS: born on or after Jan. 1, 1996, for the 2013 17U NTDP

- 2012 14U NTIS: born on or after Jan. 1, 1998, for the 2013 15U National Team

Is there a Deadline or a cap of how many are allowing to tryout?

You must be registered through USA Baseball in order to be eligible. You can register by visiting www.capitalntis.com. 18 players at each age group will move forward to the Regional Championship Showcase at the Virginia Sports Complex from July 31-August 2.

There was already one tryout on June 23 and the second and final tryout for Delaware will take place on July 21 @ Rockford Park in Wilmington.

Check out the NTIS ad in the most recent edition of Baseball America (page 27).

There is no cap as to how many players can tryout but only 18 from each age group will get the opportunity to move forward.

DelNTIS,

Can you clarify the dates from the Camp Details page: "Selected players will be invited back for a final tryout on Friday July 14th and 15th at Virginia Sports Complex in Ruther Glen VA."

Thanks

That is a misprint. July 14th and 15th is for the Virginia NTIS State Final tryout. I have contacted the regional director about erasing that from the tryout details. I apologize for any inconvenience.

If you have anymore questions, you can contact me directly at DE@CapitalNTIS.com.
