Keith Kubec pitched a great game today against the Silver Eagles, I had the chance to watch him pitch alot last summer and the kid flat out can throw.
Before anyone jumps to conclusions about him writing this or not needing the accolades, let me tell you Im his summer ball coach. Great kid who battled through the first couple innings and then settled in to shut down the opposition until the 7th inning when Hodgson put a couple runners on base only to see Kubec finish them off with a strikeout to end the game. This kid is very special and anyone who gets him next year in college is a very lucky coach. Keith great game kid and wish you lots of luck next year in college.

I often get to chuckling to myself when I hear folks talk of players as being special. Many times the term is thrown around too loosely by folks who really haven't seen genuine championship baseball played by those who actually play it. Not saying you're doing that because I agree with you on Kubec. It's just something that I hear a lot is all and I'm speaking generally. The term is greatly over used these days and often by those who really know nothing about what kind of work ethic and dedication is involved with becoming successful at the sport. Baseball has to grow up with you if you're to be successful. There are some pitchers and catchers for instance that are rather decent ball players and who are sometimes placed into that category yet when matched against an experienced base runner they get run on all day long. With Kubec though, I'd place him into that category because he actually does have a special gift in pitching from what I've seen and Delaware does actually have a few standout players. Some known. Some not so much. In the end they'll all do well though looking toward future endeavors, I think. The truly special athletes are well protected from opening themselves up to scrutiny among those who are less informed about what Championship baseball entails. Always comes down to the parents and coaches and how junior handles his business when looking forward to college. Fans are fans. Best to just enjoy the game and let well enough be.

I have no problem with DETITANS saying he thinks the kid is special. Its just a word and its his opinion. I don't think Titan is saying the kid will be drafted #1 this year, just that he is a special kid that will have a coach next year that really feels lucky to have him.

I appreciate the info from Titan or anyone else on the forum pointing out quality kids (in their opinion). As long as its positive, i say keep it coming. It gives a lot of us that don't get to see too many teams, a reason to go see a certain game and check out a quality kid why we are there.

Just my opinion.

OldSkool believe me when I tell you if you ever get a chance to see Kubec throw do it, kid mixes speeds and pitches so well. He is very smart at managing his game and knowing when he needs that little extra in the tank to speed it up but such a great all around kid also.

Calvarese and Kubec are going to Nuemann U. AI Teamates and friends for a while. Nuemann to the Regionals this year and ranked nationally. Great kid from STM, Kevin Flannigan just finished a beautiful 4 years there. Nice program.

Also heard Kye Williams 3B from Caravel and Nick Trent P,1B from Hodgson are going there also, nice to see Delaware talent moving on in college ball.
